Florida Graduate Public Health Schools with Master's and PhD Degree Programs

University of Florida School of Public Health:

The school offers a wide array of angles and areas of concentrations for today's aspiring public health professionals. The school offers students access to a number of different clinical and professional experience opportunities. Master of Public Health Practice:

This is a graduate degree for students who are interested in the real world practice of public health. Students begin the program by declaring individual areas of study and expertise. Students then take courses that make up a core education in the public health field. Students learn about health risks and practices in today's urban, rural, and culturally diverse communities. Students also learn about challenges in today's field and how professionals are facing these challenges. Students have a number of internship and clinical research experiences to choose from. Students work closely with faculty members to complete papers and independent research projects. Students who complete this program are qualified to work in a number of public health contexts that require hands-on experience and one-on-one communications with members of different communities at close levels of engagement.

Master of Environmental Health:

This is a graduate program for students who are interested in public health from the perspective of the environments in which people reside. Students begin by declaring individual areas of interest. Students then take core classes in the public health field. They study a number of different environments, including rural and urban environments. They considered different environmental contexts and learn about how public health is related to each of these contexts. Students work in clinical research contexts and also work alongside faculty members to complete independent projects and papers relevant to their areas of expertise.

Master of Public Health Management and Policy:

This is a graduate degree that allows students to learn about public health from the big picture perspective. Students begin the program by declaring individual areas of research. Students then take courses that will make up a core public health education. They learn about issues and challenges to today's public health professionals. Students are also given the opportunity to work in a number of clinical research settings. Students work with faculty members who guide them toward the completion of key independent research projects and papers. Students who complete this program are qualified to serve as leaders, educators, administrators, and advisors in a number of health policy contexts. Students write and influence public health policy. They may also go on to pursue PhD degrees.
