University of Florida's Graduate Psychology Programs

This "Public Ivy" school is one of the top-ranked universities in the nation. Offering a private school education at a public school price, the University of Florida boasts two schools of psychology: the Department of Psychology and Department of Clinical and Health Psychology.

Ph.D. in Psychology

Students pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology can choose from four different areas of specialty: behavior analysis, developmental, neurobehavioral and cognitive sciences, and social psychology. The program works off a collegial apprenticeship model.

Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology

The program in Counseling Psychology is approved by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board. Students can choose from a variety of research interests, including self-esteem and identity, animal models of addiction or obesity, the impact of stereotypes and prejudice, and areas of brain activation.

Florida State University's Graduate Psychology Programs

(Including Educational Psychology and Family & Child Sciences)

FSU is a comprehensive doctoral research university; one of Florida's primary graduate research facilities. While most graduate psychology programs are administered by the school's Department of Psychology, the Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems administers the Counseling, School, and Sports Psychology programs, while the Department of Family & Child Sciences administers the Marriage & Family Therapy program.

Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology

Administered by the Department of Psychology, this program is based on a clinical science model of education. The program provides concurrent, integrative training in clinical science and clinical science delivery in order to prepare students to apply current knowledge, theories, and techniques.
