University of Louisville’s Graduate Psychology Programs

As part of the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, in the College of Arts and Sciences at Louisville University, the graduate psychology programs are focused on producing clinical psychologists who are able to exemplify the very highest ideal of the scientist-practitioner model. Students in this program are required complete a Master's Research Portfolio before they are permitted to start their preliminary examinations and eventually begin their dissertation work.

Ph.D in Clinical Psychology

Any student that seeks to enroll in the doctoral program for Clinical Psychology at the University of Louisville must be prepared to complete a rigorous 4 year program of study. Upon completion students are expected to be able to conduct and to evaluate psychological research, to understand the importance of staying current in their knowledge of theoretical research and the empirically-supported application of the same theory, to demonstrate the ability to implement clinical practices that are reinforced by research, and to demonstrate superior ethical and professional reputations with their clients, students, and colleagues in the future.

Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology

The training that is provided in the coursework encourages the continuous pursuit of excellence in research, and facilitates close cooperation between students and faculty so that the field can continue to advance.
