Master of Science in Criminal Justice:

They will begin to do independent research that will eventually be used to support their master dissertations. These internships provide students with the opportunity to not only get involved with the community, but also to research from a firsthand perspective. Students witness the real-world effects of the theories, laws, and policies that were taught in class. Students who complete this program are qualified to work in a wide range of government positions at both the state and federal level. Students are also able to go on and pursue PhD degrees in their special areas of concentration.

PhD in Criminal Justice:

This program is for students who have already earned the Master of Science in criminal justice. Students who are in this program wish to gain a more advanced understanding of the key issues in the field, and of their own areas of concentration. Most students in this program are interested in scholarship and teaching at the university level. Students begin with a more advanced exploration of key concepts and ideas. Students then work closely with faculty members who guide them to the creation of their PhD dissertations. Students will do first-hand research as well as book and library research.
