Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership

This innovative program features a practitioner-oriented curriculum that is scheduled around the lives of working adults. Students who complete the program are equipped to gain educational and administrative positions in all levels of leadership.

Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration

The goal of this quality program is to prepare individuals for entry and mid-level management or research positions available at community colleges, senior colleges and universities. The option is intended to enhance the skills of those students who currently serve in administrative positions at such institutions as well.

Northwestern University's Graduate Education Programs

There are 12 schools altogether at NU, ten of which offer professional programs to graduate students. The School of Education and Social Policy ranks seventh in the nation according to US News and World Report.

Master of Science in Education

Throughout the context of school, family, community and work, professionals from this program are trained in the skills they need to improve the lives of others through education. Concentrations include Elementary Education, Secondary Teaching, Advanced Teaching, and Higher Education Administration and Policy.

Master's in Learning Sciences

This full-time, 11-month course prepares students to become researchers, developers and practitioners, advancing scientific understanding and practice of teaching and learning in schools. In addition to the coursework, research projects stand to provide opportunities for student participation in original investigations of learning and teaching in schools and other environments.

PhD in Learning Sciences

While both the master's and PhD programs are designed to prepare students to become qualified researchers, developers and practitioners, a PhD graduate will be able to work in university environments, government agencies and private organizations that are not necessarily available to master's graduates.

Western Illinois University's Graduate Education Programs
