University of Kentucky College of Public Health:

Master of Health Administration:
This is a graduate program for qualified students who are interested in becoming leaders and administrators in the health profession. Students begin by taking courses that make up a core health education. Students learn about health education, health risks, policy, and community and environmental influences in today's health landscape. Students choose individual areas of study, which will influence their choices of electives. Students will engage in community internships and clinical research opportunities relevant to their areas of study. Students work with faculty members to complete research projects and papers. Students who complete this program become staff leaders, trainers and administrators. Students who complete this program may also go on to pursue PhD Degrees.
Doctor of Public Health:
This is an advanced graduate degree for students who have a strong background, interest, and experience in public health. Students enter the program with individual areas of interest and concentration. Students will continue their study of advanced core concepts in the public health field. Students continue clinical research and develop complex research methodologies to complete independent projects and papers. Students work with faculty advisors to complete PhD dissertations, which are presented and defended before an academic panel. Students who complete this program become university researchers and educators. They also occupy a number of different high-level positions in various organizations, institutions, and agencies.
