Masters in Design
If you are an artistic and creative person and hope to make a career out of your natural talents, earning a Masters in Design is the first step to obtaining this goal. Design coursework at the graduate level will include an expansion of the information you gained in basic design courses. You will become an expert at planning and creating an arrangement of ideas to form a building, machine, painting, webpage or a number of other design projects that require a creative eye. You will need to have a firm knowledge of balance, gradation, contrast, dominance, unity, repetition and other design fundamentals. You will also need a grasp on the elements of design like line, color, emphasis, texture and other artistic techniques.
If you want to pursue your higher education in design, you can do so without compromising time at work or with your family. Taking online classes allows you to create your own schedule and work at your own pace. Complete a master’s program in less than two years or take up to five. The flexibility you have in forming your own education is impossible in any other setting.
You can set yourself up for success in many different fields with your completed design degree. Industrial and graphic design, design drafting, interior design, fashion and clothing design as well as many other fine arts categories are open to you. The salaries in this category are too far ranging to define here. You could choose to pursue a career in the fine arts without formal training, but the competition is fierce. Unless you are a protégée, it is recommended that you complete one of the offered Design Master’s Programs available either online or in a traditional classroom setting.
