Texas Graduate Engineering Schools with Master's & PhD Degree Programs
Baylor School of Engineering and Computer Science
Although it's a smaller school than the sprawling universities that Texas is generally known for, Baylor stands on its own by merit of its good reputation and wide range of programs of study. It's also one of the few universities in the area that offers online coursework to its students, which can make a world of difference for those that are unsure of how they are going to fit a commute to campus into their busy schedules. Not all engineering schools have this feature.
Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering
The computer sciences draw in many students who have now grown up around computers and want to learn more about how they are designed. Software design and engineering are thus a major component of this program, and help give students the real life skills to make the most of what they have learned and apply it to a real-world thesis project at the end of their studies.
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
Electrical systems are the main focus of this academic program. Some of the sample courses that may be required include electromagnetism, electrical currents, and electrical systems. This helps students then prepare to control and design different ways of manipulating currents to help guide electricity in a more efficient way in the real world. Safety standards are also a major component of this course.

University of Texas at Austin Cockrell School of Engineering
With programs including such a wide range of topics as aerospace design, computer systems engineering, and a bevy of other aspects of engineering as a wider holistic field, the UT at Austin's Cockrell School of Engineering enjoys one of the finest reputations not only in the state, but also as a whole in the world. As a result of this reputation, it manages to consistently draw in the best and the brightest students and faculty from around the world to take part in special research projects and more.
PhD in Electrical Engineering
There are many facets of electrical engineering that are included in this advanced level of study. That includes a heavy emphasis on research, which weighs in to the student's ability to then find a career in this field. Because it looks at electrical engineering as a portion of how society works, this is a good way to get a foot in the door in this career.
Master of Science in Environmental Engineering
A rather unique program of study that is also offered here is a Master's in environmental engineering. This looks at ecosystems, and teaches the student more about how they all interact with one another in a logical way. It also then involves a research component that will look at these ecosystems, and how to manage natural resources effectively.
