US News and World Report lists WVU among its top 100 best schools for social work. WVU was founded as a public research university in Morgantown, West Virginia in 1867. Morgantown has very low unemployment paired with high growth and is in the mountainous north-central part of West Virginia, affording students opportunities during their studies and after graduation.
Master of Social Work
There is a standard MSW track for those students who do not have a BSW degree and an advanced standing track for those who hold a BSW from a Council of Social Work Education accredited institution. The program includes coursework and fieldwork. Students may choose from over 250 approved fieldwork locations, providing the practical experience students' need to advance their careers.
